Support the blog

Since January 2011, Cruise Ship Drummer! has provided free of charge hundreds of pages of top quality, original exercises and transcriptions, as well as written pieces in our inimitable style and perspective. I think you'll agree this is unique on the internet. Creating that content demands a lot of love and many, many uncompensated hours of work. Your cash support helps us in this work, and assures that we are able to continue, and expand our offerings into the future.

So if you value this site, you can help us in the following ways:

1. Buy cymbals

In 2018 we started to sell Cymbal & Gong brand cymbals, a custom brand from Portland, with master smiths in Turkey. We believe they are some of the best traditional handcrafted cymbals available today. They look incredible, and they're the real 50s/60s sound.

Visit Cymbalistic to check our cymbals out and buy them. Feel free to contact me (EMAIL TODD link in sidebar) if you have any questions.

2. Make a cash donation via PayPal:

All amounts are welcome and encouraged. Small recurring donations are lovely. Larger donations of all types are great, too. Heaping scads of cash from wealthy individuals who respect what we do will not be declined.

3. Buy our books:

Print books including Syncopation in 3/4, 100 Grooves, and all of our annual Books of the Blog.

E-books, including 13 Essential Sticks, EZ Rock Drumming Method, transcription collections by Roy Haynes, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, Max Roach, Zigaboo Modeliste, more!

4. Take private lessons

2020 note: Thanks to the COVID pandemic, I am teaching exclusively online for the foreseeable future.

If you live in the Portland, Oregon metro area, get some lessons with your author, Todd Bishop.

In other areas, you can take lessons via Skype, Zoom, or FaceTime. Hit the Skype logo in the side bar to contact me by email, or message me through the Skype app at todd6ishop.

All levels are welcome.

5.  Buy music downloads:

Through Bandcamp.

6.  Buy CDs:

Purchase CDs by Todd Bishop

7. Advertise on the blog.

Hit E-MAIL TODD in the sidebar to make an inquiry. As of mid-2016 we get 400-1000 page views per day, around 20,000 per month; 200-250 unique visits per day; approximately 150 first time visits per day; 50-75 returning visits per day.

8.  Follow the blog.

Hit the “join this site” button in the sidebar and follow the instructions.

9.  Follow us on Twitter.

Hi Todd - I just stumbled upon your site while enduring the painful thread on 6/8 transcriptions and am impressed with your material! Really nice job. Dan
