They can simulate adult abilities by making them cram a whole lot of a narrow range of technical practice. It made me ...Thanks for this interesting post Todd. It made me think about the idea of 'talent'. It's not that I don't believe that some people might have natural ability but it seems when it's looked at in more detail it's things like passion, intrinsic motivation and hard work that determine the outcome. People seem so dazzled by child geniuses, athletes and musicians that they forget at that age people have little to no responsibility so putting the work in is easy. Plus, children tend to be fearless and don't have the same hang ups adults have so are less inhibited. The parents who drive they're children militantly are probably just feeding their own narcissism.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
